This website is absolutely amazing.
From the website:
Sometimes it is hard to differentiate between real and pseudo fair trade products and the importers.
That is why I offer fair trade products that have been chosen using standards drawn from Buddhist ethical practices, driven by the simple but powerful universal principles of non-harming and caring. For me, concern for the health and well being of all is as important in business as it is in my family.
My global approach, guided by these essential principles and the fundamental principals of Fair Trade, ensures that the product, the workers who produce it, the company that imports it, and the treatment of all are considered. This insures that all aspects of a business are accounted for, including but not limited to, social costs and benefits.
The specific standards I use to evaluate the products on my site and the companies that import them and my company are derived from Thich Nhat Hanh’s Five Mindfulness Trainings. Thích Nhất Hạnh is a Vietnamese Zen Buddhist monk, teacher, author, poet and peace activist, who was nominated by Martin Luther King Jr. for the Nobel Peace Prize.
